Here’s our guide to buying veneer, from selection to specification to placing an order.

How to Buy Veneer
Because veneer is packed with natural characteristics, no two logs, let alone bundles, are the same, which means buying veneer isn’t quite the same as buying other materials.
To help you get exactly what you need, here’s what we usually ask for when selecting veneer for your project:
What we need to know:
-
Stage 1 - SPECIFICATION
Which Species - Consider timber colour, colour variation, durability and other species characteristics
Grain Type - Are you looking for a bold, decorative grain with lots of movement or a more minimal, linear effect? Bear in mind that different slicing methods deliver differing grain features.
Project Scope - Tell us a little about your project. With an understanding of the intended use, including factors such as exposure to heat, light or humidity, we will be aware of considerations required to help your selection.
Sustainability - Let us know if you need to meet any specific sustainability requirements.
Budget - Let us know any budgetary considerations when selecting your veneer.
-
Stage 2 - PURCHASING
Dimensions - Provide the total square metre coverage and any preferred leaf dimensions including height and width.
Leadtime - Let us know your order timeframe. We can supply 'in stock' veneers within a couple of days. Tabu veneers which need to be ordered from Italy may take 2-3 weeks.
Supply Management - For the phased delivery of larger projects, we can work with you to provide stock when and where you need it.
Bundle Consistency - Make us aware of the requirement for consecutive bundles for larger projects so we can facilitate single point ordering.
Special Requirements - Let us know if you are looking for an unusual species, a particular veneer thickness or for any bespoke sourcing and production requirements.
Ready to Place an Order?
Just get in touch when you’re ready to get into the specifics of an order. We can provide details of veneers available from stock, including images of specific bundles or lead-times for those that may need to be ordered. The more details you can provide about the project in hand will help us supply just the right veneer for the job.
