Engineered Veneer Collections
-
Multilaminar
Constructed entirely from natural wood, multilaminar veneers offer visual consistency with outstanding sustainability credentials. Created from a stack of laminated veneers, the blocks are sliced into uniform sheets, delivering repeatable grain, extended lengths, and minimal wastage — ideal for large scale, colour critical applications.
-
Graffiti
Designed to turn surfaces into features, our Graffiti collection by Tabu Italy brings veneer into the realms of wall art. The collection employs modern marquetry technology to deliver a range of geometric, linear and burr inspired designs all constructed from natural wood. A maximum impact surface treatment ideal for hospitality, retail, and high-spec residential interiors.
-
Groovy
This range of texture-rich three dimensional veneers have been embossed with a series of geometric decorative designs. This production technique creates a visually impactful, tactile veneer, with all the properties of natural wood from which it is constructed. The muted, earthy colour palette reflects some of the dyed products from the wider Tabu veneer range.
Key Benefits
-
Standard Sizes
Produced in large, standard sheet sizes of up to 305cm L x 70cm W, allowing for easier application and reduced wastage. Each man-made block yields high volumes - perfect for larger veneered surfaces.
-
Controlled
Controlled production creates increased consistency compared to veneers in their natural state. Colour reliability and repeatable pattern, including geometric formations, are ideal for large scale, colour critical applications.
-
Natural
Made entirely of natural wood, these engineered veneers offer all the beneficial qualities of wood boosted with additional practical advantages of enhanced colour, pattern and texture.
-
Sustainable
Made from fast growing species from areas of re-afforestation and veneers which did not make the dyed veneer grade and might otherwise by wasted. The standard sheet size minimises production wastage which can occur with unclipped natural veneer leaves.
How They Are Made
Multilaminar Veneers
These engineered veneers are created by layering dyed veneers into a man-made log or ‘block’. The veneers are assembled in a specific order to produce straight grain or crown cut veneer. They are layered in a colour sequence or shaped over curved forms to deliver highly decorative, unique patterns.
Once assembled, the engineered blocks are sliced into uniform sheets in standard 0.55mm veneer thicknesses. Different slicing angles create yet more unique patterns.
Graffiti
This range of geometric and burr inspired inlays is created using the latest laser cutting techniques. Dyed veneers are combined to create bold pattern in an array of soft neutrals. Patterns range from precise lines and curves to more organic shapes.
Each sheet is backed with an FSC certified non-woven fleece, which adds to the sheet integrity. The sheet sizes and pattern repeat make these veneers perfect for both large scale applications and feature areas.
Groovy
This distinctive 3 dimensional veneer is created by bonding together two layers of standard 0.55mm thick veneers. These are laminated together before pressing and embossing with a series of raised patterns.
The overall thickness is 1.0 to 1.1mm, creating a robustly versatile surface treatment, backed with an FSC non-woven fleece for additional strength and integrity. The base thickness, excluding the pattern relief remains 0.55mm and care should be taken when pressing to retain the pattern.
